DEAN TREE

Dean Tree Organization (THE DEANS), of the Unity Community Center in Camden, New Jersey founded by Jamal P. Dickerson in 1992.  Together Jamal, along with his uncle Kenyatta "Manzie" Johnson and friends Hassan Sabree and Ryan Hadden form this group in high school to encourage the students to stay in school. They worked very hard developing programs and after school programs to encourage the students to achieve high academic excellence. The DEAN TREE consists of both male and female.  Many of them are college graduates, arm force personnel with honors and very successful and positive individuals in society.  They developed a fraternity - sorority style step team called the Brothers and Sisters of Dean where they perform at many schools, colleges, universities and community events.   They also sponsor and host many positive events for the young people such as, talent shows, roller skating events, bowling events and etc., to promote unity and the importance of young students enjoying themselves in atmospheres of righteousness and peace.
